Michael Weiss, DVM

Michael Weiss, DVMDr. Michael Weiss is a 1988 graduate of the University of Missouri’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Rutgers University and a Master’s degree in Animal Nutrition from Pennsylvania State University.

After earning his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Weiss practiced emergency medicine and surgery for seven years in addition to operating a mobile veterinary service prior to opening All Creatures Veterinary Care Center in January of 1997. He has extensive experience in the areas or orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, ultrasound and endoscopy. Dr. Weiss also has extensive skills and experience in the area of exotic pet medicine and surgery. He receives exotic pet referrals from many veterinary hospitals in the tri-state region. Dr. Weiss has also been a speaker at several major veterinary continuing education conferences, both nationally and internationally, in the area of exotic pets.

Dr. Weiss consults for numerous pet retail outlets, breeders, and online “Ask the Vet” sections. He has been featured in People Magazine and Woman’s Day, and was selected as one of the Delaware Valley’s “23 Great Vets” in Philadelphia Magazine’s February 2000 issue. He has also been featured on Animal Planet, Extra and American Journal TV shows, as well as Good Day Philadelphia

His memberships include the American Veterinary Medical Association, New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Avian Veterinarians, Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians, Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians.

Dr. Weiss is currently a resident of Mullica Hill, New Jersey. He has two daughters, Lauren, a student at Delaware Valley College, and Morgan, a junior at Kingsway Regional High School. He was also the assistant varsity lacrosse coach at Moorestown High School from 1989-1999 and head varsity lacrosse coach at Washington Township High School from 2003-2005. He also developed an off season lacrosse program for boys and girls for All State Lacrosse, which operated from 2004-2008. This program was responsible for the recruitment of many high school players into high level college lacrosse programs. Dr. Weiss’ interests include fishing, cooking, travel and trying to control his two Australian Shepherds Tucker and Toby.

Maya Pirok, VMD

Maya Pirok, VMDDr. Maya Pirok was born in Russia and grew up in Los Angeles where she attended the University of California and received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology. During college, she spent two years doing biomedical research in immunology by examining the biological mechanisms that regulate the mammalian eye.

After completing her undergraduate degree, she moved to Philadelphia and received her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine. While in veterinary school Maya pursued her interests in research in the field of medical genetics, studying the causes of hereditary metabolic diseases in animals.

Her medical interests include internal medicine, dentistry, rehabilitation and exotics. Dr. Pirok is also certified to take PennHip X-rays to detect hip dysplasia in puppies as young as four months of age.

Dr. Pirok, her husband, and children Caleb, Cybele and Chloe, now live in Philadelphia with their cats Cindy and Bic. When she is not at work, Maya enjoys spending time with her family, skiing, long-distance running, and enjoying good food.

Jessica Schoell, VMD

Jessica Schoell, VMDDr. Jessica Schoell is a 2004 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine. Her professional interests include diagnostic imaging, soft tissue surgery, and emergency medicine. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, making quilts and jewelry, and gardening.
